11“This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. Luke 8:11
7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that naturewill reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Galatians 6:7-10)
Have you ever noticed the work of a farmer can be very tedious? Perhaps you haven’t, because we typically see the outcome, however, never the process. If you or know someone that has or had a garden, it requires work. A seed cannot grow unless it has good soil, warmth (sun) and water. The plant will grow, depending on energy from the sun.
Notice the work of a farmer, the ground has to be tilled, watered, which requires nurturing, before the seed is planted. I love the fact that the farmer has expectation, not in-expectation. In due season the farmer knows that he/she will reap a great harvest based on the seeds planted. The soil doesn’t determine the type of crop that’s produced, it’s determined by the seed planted.
In life, what are your expectations? What seeds have you planted? Have you planted any seeds? Don’t expect a rose plant if you planted apple seeds! We can’t spend our time on earth, simply throwing seeds (ideas, thoughts, attitudes, God’s word), not taking the time to make sure the soil (our hearts) is right, nor without watering(nurturing/blessings) the ground. He can still shower down blessings (water) in the meantime of your expected harvest so that you can remember that, He’s sovereign. You have to live life in expectancy, as the farmer, knowing in due season that you will reap a great harvest. Once you’ve tilled your ground in good soil, planted the seed, every now and then you have to water that seed, and look to the sun (God) to help you grow, so that you will not wither in the process! You may be going through something that may seem like it’s not coming to an end, though it may take time, have patience, your planting is not in vain. When you have the bright sun/son shining down on you, it’s to cultivate your growth in Him! Then..it’s time to reproduce, don’t allow people to determine your harvest, sow on good ground! Don’t get weary, get joyful, knowing, all of the hard work will soon pay off!!! Don’t stop tilling, that means you’re preparing for your blessing, because you know it’s on the way!
Planting is a Process (maturity) that requires Patience and Perseverance, in order for anything to Produce! In the seasons of growth (germination), you must remove the unwanted weeds (things, negativity, people, etc.) that will hinder your growth. It’s time for something NEW….allow the rain….He’s shifting things in your life.
Remember: You can’t get what you haven’t planted, live in expectancy! Everyday walk in EXPECTANTCY and Humility!!! In due season………
I am planting seeds and waiting for the harvest! Thx for the post. 🙂
