(MSG)
12-14I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.
15-16So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet!
Have you ever got into your car with fog residue, not having time to defrost your windows, immediately, you turn on the windshield wipers to remove the residue for the moment? Has it ever occured to you that, the front window always clears before the back. Have you ever looked into your mirror to check the rear and although it’s still foggy, you have your lights on so that you can see ahead clearly, despite the fog. For some reason, looking behind it’s difficult to see, despite the conditions of the fog. Webster defines fog as, a state of mental confusion or unawareness; daze or a cloudlike mass or layer of minute water droplets or ice crystals near the surface of the earth, appreciably reducing visibility.
Sometimes LIFE itself can appear foggy. Just think about somethings that may be keeping your from God’s word. Just consier it FOG! James 1:2, reminds us to consider it joy, whenver you face trials of many kinds.
You may ask, what are you saying? I’m glad you asked, even Paul mentioned in Philippians 3:13, that you must forget what’s behind. Despite what has occured in past, you can look forward knowing that God has something greater for you to do and become. I’ve mentioned before, “The rear-view mirror says, Objects in Mirror are closer than they appear.” That should be a reminder that, “My blessings are closer than they appear, despite what’s behind.” Therefore, somethings are only meant for YOU to see!!!! We fail to realize how small the rear view mirror is oppose to the windshield!! Every time you get in your car you should be reminded that even though things may look foggy, you have a windshield (your future) that’s bigger than your rear view mirror. You must press toward that thing or things that God has purposed you to do (v14). Focus on what’s ahead of you and not on all the traffic and unclear things behind you. Sometimes people can try to hinder you from your walk, but that doesn’t determine where you’re going. The enemy gets elated when he thinks you’re going to give up, during the foggy moments of life, and as Christians it’s easy to become discouraged. Today, I want to encourage you, as you become mature in walking in the FOG, God can make what you thought was unclear, clear, notice in verse 15 message version states, God can clear up any blurred vision that you may have, so whether it’s sickness, job loss, the economy, or whatever you maybe facing, God can give you PROVISION. He’s omnipresent, Keep believing, trusting and walking in the FOG, because that Fog is just setting you up to walk in the Favor OF God!!! Don’t look back, just keep pressing toward the mark of a higher calling….keep walking…because in the fog there can be peace, love, joy, happiness, grace and mercy to sustain you. Just when you thought the FOG hindering you, it was only God reminding you not to focus on those things behind, but to realize he can turn it around as Favor Of God…and not Webster’s definition of fog to confuse you!
Walk in the FAVOR of GOD!!! The old things have passed away, don’t revert to what He’s brought you from, yet open your eyes to the “new” things He has ahead of you…..
This was SOOOOOO on time for me!!!! Praise God!!!
Just when I was about to look back, I received your blog in my inbox (e-mail), right on time. Thanks for your timely words. Love you, sweetheart.
