“Don’t give Up on Him—Give in”

Joshua 1: 3, 5, 8

3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. 5 No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

  Take a few moments and ask yourself, “Has God gave up on me?”  In the same breath answer this question, “Have YOU gave up on Him?”

 I had a conversation with a young lady who told me she was tired of praying.  She mentioned, “I’m still here, but, I have to take a break from praying, it doesn’t work for me.”

 I didn’t go into detail with her circumstance, however, as humans we fail to realize, regardless how the enemy may try to detour you from your relationship with Christ—God still sits high and looks low.  It’s easy to lose focus, when you place “material or carnal things” before God, it becomes greed or lush.  The things you go after began to overshadow–what God has originally tried to give you. Has it ever occurred to you that we do so much to get glory or shine?  Stop trying to expedite your blessing(s). It’s not about you! Instead of plotting on what you can get…think about how you can give in to him!! God gives and He can take away.  Be thankful for what he has already given.  Don’t become overly anxious.

 So my response to the young lady was, “Don’t give up on Him, but Give in to Him!”  At the very time you’re tired of praying, it cultivates faith and strength that will confuse the enemy, because you can, “Give up on the Enemy and Give in to God!”  Then God will allow the things you touch and people you meet to become, ‘blessed’ if it’s of Him.

 Make today the best day—you won’t see it again!!!!  Don’t allow people to cause you to stop praying!!! Keep praying and watch God move on your behalf! Remember:  “People may change, but God remains the same. God will give you more than you can imagine, when you submit to Him. Try following Him more than Twitter!” Today, encourage someone to move forward to PURPOSE!! When you Pray, have Patience, then Persevere, then await Him to reveal your Purpose!!!

Walking in the FOG

Definition of FOG:  a state of mental confusion or unawareness; daze
or a cloudlike mass or layer of minute water droplets or ice crystals near the surface of the earth, appreciably reducing visibility.

Philippians 3:12-15 (NIV)
12Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. 15All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.

(MSG)

12-14I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.

 15-16So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet!

 Have you ever got into your car with fog residue, not having time to defrost your windows, immediately, you turn on the windshield wipers to remove the residue for the moment? Has it ever occured to you that, the front window always  clears before the back.  Have you ever looked into your mirror to check the rear and although it’s still foggy, you have your lights on so that you can see ahead clearly, despite the fog.  For some reason, looking behind it’s difficult to see, despite the conditions of the fog. Webster defines fog as, a state of mental confusion or unawareness; daze or a cloudlike mass or layer of minute water droplets or ice crystals near the surface of the earth, appreciably reducing visibility.

Sometimes LIFE itself can appear foggy.  Just think about somethings that may be keeping your from God’s word. Just consier it FOG!   James 1:2, reminds us to consider it joy, whenver you face trials of many kinds.

 You may ask, what are you saying? I’m glad you asked, even Paul mentioned in Philippians 3:13, that you must forget what’s behind.  Despite what has occured in past, you can look forward knowing that God has something greater for you to do and become. I’ve mentioned before, “The rear-view mirror says, Objects in Mirror are closer than they appear.” That should be a reminder that,  “My blessings are closer than they appear, despite what’s behind.”  Therefore, somethings are only meant for YOU to see!!!!  We fail to realize how small the rear view mirror is oppose to the windshield!! Every time you get in your car you should be reminded that even though things may look foggy, you have a windshield (your future) that’s bigger than your rear view mirror. You must press toward that thing or things that God has purposed you to do (v14). Focus on what’s ahead of you and not on all the traffic and unclear things behind you. Sometimes people can try to hinder you from your walk, but that doesn’t determine where you’re going. The enemy gets elated when he thinks you’re going to give up, during the foggy moments of life, and as Christians it’s easy to become discouraged.  Today, I want to encourage you, as you become mature in walking in the FOG, God can make what you thought was unclear, clear, notice in verse 15 message version states, God can clear up any blurred vision that you may have, so whether it’s sickness, job loss, the economy, or whatever you maybe facing, God can give you PROVISION.  He’s omnipresent, Keep believing, trusting and walking in the FOG, because that Fog is just setting you up to walk in the Favor OF God!!! Don’t look back, just keep pressing toward the mark of a higher calling….keep walking…because in the fog there can be peace, love, joy, happiness, grace and mercy to sustain you.  Just when you thought the FOG hindering you, it was only God reminding you  not to focus on those things behind, but to realize he can turn it around as Favor Of God…and not Webster’s definition of fog to confuse you!

Walk in the FAVOR of GOD!!! The old things have passed away, don’t revert to what He’s brought you from, yet open your eyes to the “new” things He has ahead of you…..

Discomfort in Comfortableness

2 “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.”

3 But Jonah ran away from the LORD and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the LORD.

17 But the LORD provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the fish three days and three nights. Jonah 1:2-3, 17

 Ninevah—a wicked city worthy of destruction

 In life, why is it so difficult to step into the unknown, or help someone you know that’s in need?  Jonah was asked to go preach to Ninevah to help save the people there and he disregarded God’s request.  Sometimes we don’t want to do what God asks, because it’s easy to find discomfort, when we’re too comfortable in our lives.  It’s so easy to speak of the good things that God has done, but what about the times He has to strip us of something(s) or people because we’re caught avoiding His call.

There are times when God calls us to spread His word to others in many ways; however, when God calls you to perform a task on His behalf, it will cause you to become uncomfortable.  There can’t be a testimony (evidence in support of a fact or statement; proof) without a TEST.  Be mindful when you go through moments of life when you feel swallowed, remember God is just giving you hard evidence to have proof to show His glory, and to prove to others what He’s capable of doing! Please don’t feel alone, if you notice in the bible, there weren’t any victories in comfortableness.  I feel it’s safe to say, life may have swallowed you, only because God is waiting on you to call on His name, just as Jonah did. He has something great for you to do, it’s not for others to understand, but for you to fulfill. Notice, when Jonah called on His name (Jonah 2:1-10), he prayed, and God commanded (v 10) the fish to vomit Jonah onto dry land.  When life gets tough, as often times it will, call on His name and not the circumstance!

 Jonah attempted to flee the first time, and God gave Him a second chance to go to Ninevah, which displays God’s compassion and love that He had to spare Ninevah (4:11-But Nineveh has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well. Should I not be concerned about that great city?”).  I want to close by saying, it’s the uncomfortable moments that God can do uncommon things, it doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done. He answers prayers of those that call upon Him

 When you’re comfortable you’re content!  Are you willing to get uncomfortable?  Respond in obedience.

 FYI, just so you know you’re not alone in finding discomfort in comfortableness, here’s two of many that was too comfortable that God had to allow discomfort:

  • Abraham–(Gen 12), he didn’t want to leave what was familiar, but he wasn’t blessed until he was uncomfortable
  • Peter (Matt 14)– didn’t believe he could walk on water, notice he had to get OUT of the boat to follow God

I’d rather know Him and not need Him, than to need Him and not have Him.

An EXPECTED Harvest

 11“This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.  Luke 8:11

7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that naturewill reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Galatians 6:7-10)

 Have you ever noticed the work of a farmer can be very tedious? Perhaps you haven’t, because we typically see the outcome, however, never the process. If you or know someone that has or had a garden, it requires work.   A seed cannot grow unless it has good soil, warmth (sun) and water.  The plant will grow, depending on energy from the sun.

 Notice the work of a farmer, the ground has to be tilled, watered, which requires nurturing, before the seed is planted. I love the fact that the farmer has expectation, not in-expectation.  In due season the farmer knows that he/she will reap a great harvest based on the seeds planted. The soil doesn’t determine the type of crop that’s produced, it’s determined by the seed planted.

 In life, what are your expectations? What seeds have you planted? Have you planted any seeds? Don’t expect a rose plant if you planted apple seeds! We can’t spend our time on earth, simply throwing seeds (ideas, thoughts, attitudes, God’s word), not taking the time to make sure the soil (our hearts) is right, nor without watering(nurturing/blessings) the ground. He can still shower down blessings (water) in the meantime of your expected harvest so that you can remember that, He’s sovereign. You have to live life in expectancy, as the farmer, knowing in due season that you will reap a great harvest. Once you’ve tilled your ground in good soil, planted the seed, every now and then you have to water that seed, and look to the sun (God) to help you grow, so that you will not wither in the process!  You may be going through something that may seem like it’s not coming to an end, though it may take time, have patience, your planting is not in vain. When you have the bright sun/son shining down on you, it’s to cultivate your growth in Him! Then..it’s time to reproduce, don’t allow people to determine your harvest, sow on good ground! Don’t get weary, get joyful, knowing, all of the hard work will soon pay off!!! Don’t stop tilling, that means you’re preparing for your blessing, because you know it’s on the way!

Planting is a Process (maturity) that requires Patience and Perseverance, in order for anything to Produce! In the seasons of growth (germination), you must remove the unwanted weeds (things, negativity, people, etc.)  that will hinder your growth. It’s time for something NEW….allow the rain….He’s shifting things in your life.

 Remember:  You can’t get what you haven’t planted, live in expectancy! Everyday walk in EXPECTANTCY and Humility!!! In due season………

Never Early–Never Late

As humans we often encounter situations and circumstances that we try to change/alter. Have you noticed that sometimes things are meant to be? In life, when things occur whether favorable or non-favorable, analyze the situation and realize that it was meant to be or not meant to be. I notice it’s easy to call things that we want to happen/occur, “God’s favor,” but as soon as something out the ordinary happens we’re quick to say, “The devil sho’ (not sure) busy!” Please note that God will sometimes strip you from your ordinary to determine your humility. Are you humble or in a hurry? God will never be early nor late……but ON TIME!! It’s in your ordinary, He can prove His EXTRAORDINARY!

When I thought about “Never Early–Never Late,” I began to think about Reinhold Niebuhr an American Theologian. I like Niebuhur not for his prayer that many of us may know, but I the character he possesed. Niebuhur’s prayer stated,
God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.”

There are times in your life when you have to accept what has happened in the past and LET it GO, Remember/Know that God is never early nor is He late. Thank God that He was able to keep you in the process and it’s up to you to  change the things that YOU can. In life we force things to be that shouldn’t be and the things that should be….we remotely ignore.  I thought about 3 P’s before closing:

1) Patience: an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay
2) Perseverence: steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., esp. in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.
 3) Praise: the act of expressing approval or admiration; commendation; the offering of grateful homage in words or song, as an act of worship

 When you realize that God is On Time, and never early or late….then began to think about the 3 P’s and exerise positive thoughts and begin to change the things you can…..and God will guide you through the rest! Give Him ALL the PRAISE that He deserves. If He was mediocre, He’d deserve a Mediocre praise, but since He’s so AWESOME, He deserves an AWESOME praise! I have included the entire Serenity prayer for you, below.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.

 Make today great and CHANGE something!!!!!! Change allows you to see something that you never could’ve imagined—and faith allows you to believe it can HAPPEN!!! There’s Power in Prayer…and when you Praise it Paralyzes the enemy!–Chelseia

He’s a Protector in the midst, Part II

James 1:2-3 and Psalm 91

 Almost two weeks ago, I made the following statement, “I don’t just want JESUS to be a FENCE, but I need Him to be a GATE, BARRICADE, HEDGE, CAGE, just PROTECT ME….!! He’s a KEEPER!”

A week ago, while traveling on the interstate, an object striked my windshield from an over-path. At that moment, I was startled, frightened, however, my first thought was, “Why would someone do this, now my windshield has to be replaced.”  That night, I was reminded, Everyday, when you leave the house, you ask me to protect and send “my angels” to cover you throughout the day. It didn’t hit you, because you were PROTECTED!” I failed to realize, “I’m still here and there wasn’t an accident!”

Sometimes, He will place you in the midst of a situation to see if you really trust Him!!  Don’t allow frustrations to hinder your faith! It’s the job of the enemy to distract, or cause you to question God. Sometimes you have to be responsible for remembering His word, will never return void! In that moment, it’s safe to call on James, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

God is shielding you from situations, people and things, not only to protect you, but because He loves you and has a purpose…the enemy is aware of it! That’s how you know you’re kept, and when faced a situation or adversity, you can honestly say, “I know it was nobody, but….GOD!” Keep moving forward!!! You’re covered, declare it everyday!

God, I pray that you will disburse your angels to each person reading this blog. Please protect their homes, families, goings and comings. I plead your blood over any circumstance and ask you to speak life into anything that may be dead in their lives. I have expectation that you will meet every need. Have your way…in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Be inspired!

He’s a Protector….in the midst

Sometimes in LIFE you don’t need a sermon…dissertation…essay….but just a “WORD.”  Today that word is simple, “PROTECTOR!” Just take a moment to reflect on what HE has protected you from on just today…..

Here’s a chelsThought: “I don’t just want JESUS to be a FENCE, but I need Him to be a GATE, BARRICADE, HEDGE, CAGE, just PROTECT ME….!! He’s a KEEPER!

Be inspired today! Psalm 91 reminds US that He’s definitely a protector 🙂

Psalm 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
    nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
    and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
    you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”

Change of Plans

                                       Proverbs 16: 1-4 The Message

           1 Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word.

 2 Humans are satisfied with whatever looks good;
   God probes for what is good.

 3 Put God in charge of your work,
   then what you’ve planned will take place.

 4 God made everything with a place and purpose;
   even the wicked are included—but for judgment

 (NIV)

1 To man belong the plans of the heart,
       but from the LORD comes the reply of the tongue.

 2 All a man’s ways seem innocent to him,
       but motives are weighed by the LORD.

 3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
       and your plans will succeed.

 4 The LORD works out everything for his own ends—
       even the wicked for a day of disaster.

 Have you ever made plans and to your avail, things turned out completely different from what you envisioned? Can you imagine working hard toward something for weeks, months or perhaps years for something you expected such a great outcome from? Just take a few moments to think about plans you’ve made. Has any changed for your good?  We spend too much time making preparations for things that we want to do, however, time is often wasted, because if you’re honest with yourself, it’s what looks, sounds and feel good!!  When in doubt, humble yourself, and ask, “God what would YOU have me to do, and What’s your plan for my life?”

 Isn’t it so amazing that God has already planned our lives?  I’ve noticed as people we tell Him what we want, without asking what He wants. While we franticly over exert our minds, trying to plan our lives accordingly,  God will often alter our plans to show us a new direction.  In other words, He will flip your script. Canceling your plans will result in you to committing to His will and way (v3). For my personal life, I can say, in the past I’ve written down  many great ideas (business/marketing plans), because they sound and thought of them would appear to be grand.  There has been a drastic change of plans and I can humbly say, what I wrote down God has made 100% better and led me in a different direction.  Don’t become satisfied with your current plans, because He will perfect your craft to take you to a new level, that you’d hardly begin to imagine.  If you really want to make God laugh, write down and tell Him all of your plans.  God allows everything to work according to His purpose in due season.  Allow Him to be your life event planner!!  Trust and believe, whatever He plans, will succeed.  Speak positive and commit to Him in all you do!!  I pray your plans succeed, but you must remember to ask with a humble heart. Change of Plans may be in your best interest!!! Take time to reflect and compare what you’ve planned versus what you’ve asked of God for your life!  Allow Him to outweigh, what you want!

Are you plans for “People to see” or based on “Divine Purpose?”

Don’t allow life to expire without Canceling your plans and committing to His will.

All things..

ALL Things!
28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:28-31
Predestined: to fix upon, decide, or decree in advance; foreordain.
Justified: to defend or uphold as warranted or well-grounded
Glorified: to honor with praise, admiration, or worship; extol
ALL: every, the whole of, greatest possible
Have you ever pondered, wondered, or maybe worried how something so impossible could be possible? Have you at any point surrounded yourself among individuals that say they want you to succeed, but in the same breath they’re cursing you? What about those who want to give you an outline for your life (telling you what you should do)?
As humans, it’s easy to say what, when, and where..based on the carnal mind. Don’t allow people to speak life over you, when you haven’t allowed God to. We often WASTE so much time trying to figure out what God has already worked out? Have you ever thought, maybe things aren’t working because you’re doing too much? Perhaps, what you’re trying to do isn’t aligning with what He wants, the reason your plans aren’t succeeding. I find humor that God will allow us time and time again to encounter obstacles, hardships, trials and tribulations until there’s a moment of surrendering. I want to encourage you not to loose your mind nor faith, it’s only a test. Don’t allow people, material things, nor money to take your sight off the one who’s your sole provider. Things will work out for your good, if you hope for what you do not see and have patience.
I’m sure you’re wondering, “Why patiently hope for something that I can’t see?” I want to tell you today, if you knew exactly what God has in store, you would not diligently seek Him. There has to be time to desire His presence for manifestation to take place, because everything that He has for you will come in due season, but are you ready? The trials will only come to make you strong. In the text, it’s stated, “And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.” I love that verse, because He’s waiting on you, He’s calling…but are you going to answer? Don’t loose your faith nor your joy–remember, God’s in Control…not YOU, stop trying to control Him! There’s nothing that can compare to what God has predestined for you! ALL things are working for your good—He’s worked it out!!!!Don’t go through the upcoming week in disbelief, but believing, God is working it out! It can be whatever the enemy is trying retain from your reach, but take a few moments and position yourself to say, “As long as He’s in control, I know things will work out!” If you say it, you must believe it!!!!
Each day, walk in the mentality of a BELIEVER…and repeatedly say, ALL things!!!!! It’s yours……
Have a Happy a safe RESURRECTION DAY!

Be Still

Be Still

 Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth! Psalm 46:10 AMP

Have you ever felt that you were just all over the place? I know someone that would simply say, “You’re doing the most.” My Grandmother would mention, “You have too many irons in the fire!” Often life can become chaotic, unbearable and your irons may burn.  During  those moments you need hésuchia (hay-soo-khee’-ah), Greek translation for stillness.

 Unfortunately, I have migraines occasionally, it’s hard to function and the only thing I can do is rest.  I become sensitive to light, certain fragrances and noise. When my prescription doesn’t work, the next option is an injection. The doctor will ask, “What have you done differently, or Have you been journaling your activities and/or diet?” Then he may suggest a change has to be made to see results.

I’m sure you’re wondering, “What’s the point?” I’m definitely glad you inquired! The point is, sometimes, God will get you to a point in life where the only option is to BE STILL.  It’s when you’re still there’s peace, revelations are revealed, and experience of manifestations transpire.  What have you done differently to become insensitive to His call? Have you taken a moment to journal your vision and faith steps that you will take to accomplish such task? Are you willing to change the pattern of your ways, so that He can operate by His will?

In the next few days, I encourage you to escape to stillness..solitude…My prayer is that you’ll have discernment and God will make you sensitive to His touch and voice. He’s speaking, but you must BE STILL to hear! ALL things will work together for your good. There can’t be EXALTATION without ELIMINATION! BE STILL!
